Meet Your TrueTeam
Adam Decker, CPA
Founder
Adam founded TrueBlaze in 2015 after decades of experience working with business owners and running companies of his own. Since 1995, he has partnered with hundreds of entrepreneurs, giving him a deep appreciation for the challenges they face and the satisfaction that comes from helping them problem-solve and achieve their goals.
A native of Holton, Indiana—a small town of just 300 people—Adam grew up with a close-knit community and a love for simple living. He went on to study accounting and business at Franklin College, a place that remains close to his heart not only for the education it provided but also because it’s where he met his wife, Kendra. Together they have two sons, one in college and one in high school.
Outside the office, Adam is happiest outdoors. He enjoys cycling, camping, and especially “bikepacking,” which combines the best of both worlds. He’s an avid fan of the Colts, Reds, and Pacers, and never misses the chance to set his Fantasy Football lineup. National Parks are a favorite vacation destination with Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Acadia at the top of his list. Adam is also deeply involved in his church, serving as an elder, leading a small group, volunteering as a high school youth leader and at summer camp, and engaging in worship and community with his church family.
What Adam values most in his work is walking alongside each client to help them gain clarity, confidence, and a plan for success. His areas of expertise include guiding business owners through unique situations, small business tax planning, translating financial numbers into practical insights, and supporting dental practices with planning and transactions.
Michelle Bergstrom, CPA
Accounting Advisor
Michelle is an Accounting Advisor at TrueBlaze, where she helps clients record financial transactions, maintain balanced books, and gain clarity from their numbers. A love for accounting began in her high school classroom, and it has guided her career ever since.
Michelle grew up in Northwest Ohio and studied at Bowling Green State University before earning her master’s degree from the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI. She built her career as a CPA, serving for many years as an accounting manager and, in recent years, enjoyed time living in Arizona and Florida. Wanting to be closer to family eventually brought her back home to Northwest Ohio, where she currently resides. Like many TrueBlazers, Michelle had worked with Adam previously before joining the firm. She works remotely but still makes it back to Indianapolis with her family for the Indy 500.
Life outside of work keeps Michelle on the move with her two school-aged children, who play soccer, softball, and golf. Golf is a family favorite—her husband and kids make a perfect foursome, and the sport holds special meaning since it was both her first job and where she met her husband. Rounding out the family is Aspen, their playful English Cream Golden Retriever.
Travel has always been a passion for Michelle. While living in Florida, she and her family ventured to beaches from Marco Island to Port Canaveral and down to the Florida Keys. She also treasures visits to Coronado Island near San Diego, one of her favorite destinations. More recently, northern Michigan has become a beloved escape, with its serene lakes, charming small towns, and pristine beaches—perfectly blending her love of the outdoors with treasured family memories.
Christine Condon
Accounting & Tax Manager
Christine joined TrueBlaze in May 2023 as an Accounting & Tax Manager. Christine came to TrueBlaze bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. Before joining the team, she served as CFO of a family-owned business, where she played a key role in driving significant growth in both revenue and staff, ultimately helping position the company for acquisition. At TrueBlaze, Christine values the opportunity to work with a wide array of clients and build strong, lasting relationships.
A graduate of Ball State University, Christine earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Criminal Justice. She has had the opportunity to collaborate with Adam in the past and enjoys working alongside him now again as part of the TrueBlaze team.
Outside of work, Christine spends much of her time cheering on her daughter at cross country and track meets, and cherishes every chance she gets to visit her son in college. She also enjoys mystery novels, gardening, and being an active member of the National Charity League (NCL) with her daughter. As a family, the Condons love spending time near the water, whether it’s a beach day, a camping trip, or boating with friends. Favorite destinations include Madeira Beach and John’s Pass in Florida. Christine and her husband, Jason, make their home in Westfield.
Aaron Hardebeck, CPA
Accounting & Tax Manager
Aaron joined TrueBlaze in November 2023 as an Accounting & Tax Manager, supporting small business clients with tax preparation, bookkeeping, and QuickBooks guidance. He is eager to continue building his expertise in tax management for small businesses while deepening relationships with the clients he serves.
Aaron brings valuable firsthand experience to his role. Before joining TrueBlaze, he worked as a staff accountant at a construction company and spent several years in the landscaping industry, gaining insight into the challenges small business owners face. He also celebrated a major milestone in 2023—passing the CPA exam. Aaron is a graduate of Thomas Edison State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Aaron and his wife live on the southeast side of Indianapolis and recently welcomed their first child in 2025. Though allergies prevent them from having furry pets, they happily care for a vibrant aquarium.
He and his wife enjoy vacation destinations that involve mountains and ocean and typically alternate between the two. Yosemite National Park was a favorite destination. In his free time, Aaron loves being outdoors hiking, camping, and fishing. He also enjoys trying out the many Mexican restaurants around Indianapolis.
Lauren Schaney
Client Service Manager
Lauren joined TrueBlaze in February 2024 as Client Service Manager. In this role, she serves as a key liaison for clients—your go-to for requests, support, and document coordination—helping ensure your financial picture keeps moving forward. She jokingly refers to herself as a “task master,” a quality that has already proven to be a great asset to both clients and the TrueBlaze team.
Lauren is no stranger to the world of tax preparation and small business planning. Having worked with Adam in the past, she describes returning to TrueBlaze as a “full circle moment.” Her extensive background as an Executive Assistant further strengthens her ability to anticipate needs, manage details, help keep the team organized and support clients with excellence.
Originally from Rushville, Indiana, where her family still lives on a farm, Lauren graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Public Relations. A highlight of her college years was studying abroad in Spain and traveling throughout Spain, France, and Italy. After years of vacationing in Florida, she and her husband recently made the move to Fort Myers, where they now enjoy the sunshine and opportunities to play beach volleyball together year-round.
Lauren looks forward to continuing to build meaningful client relationships and making a positive impact by supporting small business owners in their journey.
Erin Thompson
Accounting Advisor
Erin is an Accounting Advisor at TrueBlaze, where she helps clients maintain accurate books and records, ensuring their financial information stays organized and reliable. She values the flexibility of her role and the collaborative environment of the TrueBlaze team.
Erin joined TrueBlaze in 2020 after stepping away from the corporate world to focus on raising her three sons. Prior to that, she built her career as a CPA at a public accounting firm specializing in healthcare and later as an accounting manager for a local tool distributor. She is a graduate of Anderson University, where she studied accounting.
Family is central to Erin’s life. She and her husband, Jason, are approaching 25 years of marriage and are navigating the transition of having two sons in college while still cheering on their youngest in sports. She feels fortunate to have extended family nearby, providing a strong support network.
Outside of work, Erin enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, or relaxing with a good movie. Warm-weather destinations are her favorite for vacations— but she also looks forward to her trip to visit her oldest son, who will spend a semester studying in England.
Emily Jones
Accounting & Tax Manager
Keri Snyder
Marketing Coordinator
Keri joined TrueBlaze in January 2023 to support the team with communications and marketing. She also lends an important administrative hand, especially during the peak of tax season, where she quickly learned the dedication (and long hours) required to serve clients well.
For the past decade, Keri has humorously described her role as “CEO of the Household,” raising and chauffeuring teenagers while managing family life. Before that, she built a career in communications, spending more than 10 years with a community foundation and beginning her career at an investment firm. She is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business.
An outdoor enthusiast through and through, Keri feels most accomplished when her week includes hiking and a few rounds of pickleball. She especially enjoys when her two teenagers join in—often with Peanut, the family’s fox-faced Pomeranian-Chihuahua, in tow. She recently celebrated sending her oldest off to college and now spends plenty of time cheering on her youngest in nearly every sport imaginable.
Keri enjoys volunteering in her community and for various ministries at her church. When it comes to vacations, Keri’s dream destinations are always places where mountains meet the ocean—her perfect combination of adventure and natural beauty.
Kyle Wilson
Accounting Advisor
Kyle joined TrueBlaze at the end of 2024 as an Accounting Advisor. In his role, he supports clients by maintaining accurate financial records and providing bookkeeping services. He was drawn to TrueBlaze for its supportive work culture and the opportunity for both personal and professional growth.
Before joining the team, Kyle served as an Accounts Receivable Manager at a large car dealership and previously worked for a public accounting firm. Interestingly, his career began in education—he spent six years as a preschool teacher before returning to school to pursue his passion for accounting. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Franklin University.
Kyle lives on the south side of Indianapolis with his girlfriend and their pets, which include two cats, a dog, and two tarantulas. His love for animals runs deep—he once even administered vitamin shots to a pet snake, a true testament to his dedication.
Travel is one of Kyle’s greatest passions, and he typically plans both a domestic and an international trip each year. Japan has been a favorite destination, combining his appreciation for anime and Japanese culture with memorable experiences of food, art, mountains, and city life. Washington, D.C., also stands out for its rich history, and New Orleans is next on his travel list. In past years, Kyle’s interest in competitive gaming and e-sports opened doors to travel adventures around the country.
At home, Kyle enjoys gardening and caring for his many houseplants. Friends know him best for cultivating hot chili peppers, but he also enjoys experimenting with new foods and expressing himself through body piercings.
Layne Carmola
Director of Client Development
Layne joined TrueBlaze in August 2025 as Director of Client Development, bringing both energy and expertise to the firm’s growth efforts. In her role, she leads business development by managing new opportunities, building authentic connections with prospective clients, and ensuring each new client experiences a seamless, positive onboarding. Simply put: she helps turn introductions into long-lasting partnerships.
With a degree in psychology and the arts from Indiana University Bloomington, Layne has always been fascinated by people and what drives them. That curiosity quickly translated into a career in sales, where she’s spent nearly a decade working alongside small business owners and building strong relationships with accountants, CPAs, and HR professionals. Her knack for connecting with others and understanding their needs has made her an invaluable partner wherever she goes.
A Chicago-area native, Layne grew up in Hinsdale, IL, and now lives in Fishers with her husband, Nick, their son, Micah, and two lively dogs—a Black Lab and an English Cream Golden Retriever—who ensure life is never dull. When she’s not chasing after her little one (or the dogs), she enjoys staying active, playing pickleball, and exploring new restaurants around town.
Though she once dreamed of performing on Broadway, Layne has found her stage a little closer to home—singing on her church’s worship team and indulging her love for the performing arts. Whether it’s at work, on the court, or behind a microphone, Layne brings the same passion and enthusiasm to everything she does.
